More our on our progress to localize the game

My Child New Beginnings is a game in current development and we are adding additional languages as fast as we can. My Child New Beginnings is Sarepta’s biggest and most challenging project to date, with over 120,000 words among nearly 22,000 different lines, titles, descriptions, and UI, and it is our hope that it is going to keep growing for years to come. By comparison, My Child Lebensborn only had about 30,000 words in that entire game. As a small studio tackling a challenge like localization is never an easy task and it often depends on how successful the game is in different parts of the world.

It is also important to acknowledge that every language is unique and special, and that presents challenges that make it difficult to localize for everyone to enjoy. Some languages use different grammar structures, gendered words, and homonyms that can mean something entirely different if it is not translated with context. This is why it is important that in the long run deliver a clean story experience for all of our players, but that is going to take a long time still to get it right.

However, we also hear all of you asking to play now, and well we want all of you to jump in as soon as we possibly can. We have even seen a few of you using apps like screen translators which unfortunately make the playable experience really slow. We want to not leave any of you struggling to play. So between getting access to the game to more languages as quickly as possible and also keeping in mind our long-term goal of delivering our story as accurately as possible to each of the languages we want to support. We are going to be approaching localization in two phases.

The first phase is launching up to an additional supported languages built from computer-generated localizations. We first launched Russian and Portuguese to see how well this works and we received a lot of positive feedback and we have rolled out to most languages we originally supported in My Child Lebensborn.

We are hoping to be in constant collaboration with our players to make sure the game experience is smooth and enjoyable – your support and feedback is appreciated! We know that computer-generated translations are not going to be 100% perfect, and we want to ensure we are respectful to the languages, this can only be done by your support and feedback which we are carefully listening to. You can report issues with languages to our My Child Games community discord.

Regarding Arabic

We also want to acknowledge that we are not going to be providing computer-based translations for Arabic. This is because that language presents a lot of challenges both with grammar and ensuring our game can properly display the text in its native right-to-left format. Because of this, the ability to localize into Arabic going to take a very long time and we are currently projecting the game to be made available in Arabic in late 2026. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
